Thursday 15th October – Subaltern and Decolonial Citizenships Network

Thursday 15th October- The Development Legacy of Western Intervention in Afghanistan

About the event: This panel discussion with speakers Naheed Sarabi, Edmund Le and Pauline Hayes will explore America’s ongoing military campaign in Afghanistan, discussing its legacy and what the future holds for Afghanistan. Monday 19th October- The Human in Human Rights

Tuesday 20th October- Migration and Food Security

About the event: The speakers, Dr Paul Pronyk and Dr David Dawe, will be giving two presentations on the impacts of COVID-19. The first presentation will be outlining recent innovations in real time monitoring to assess behaviour changes during COVID-19, and the second will involve a discussion of the impact that COVID-19 has had on food security in Asia. Tuesday 20th October – Fast Fashion: The Latest Form of Neo-Colonialism? Panel Discussion

Time: 18:00-19:00

Hosted by: Cambridge University International Development Society (CUiD)

About the event: A discussion that focuses on the dangers of fast fashion, specifically how the industry perpetuates colonial practices and exacerbates income inequalities between countries. The event will also try to examine solutions to these problems. The speakers are Jennifer Wascak, Rocio Domingo Ramos and Professor Jodhua Castellino.
